Music Review: Musicology - Prince
After I don't know how many years, I finally went out and bought an ORIGINAL music CD (actually, I bought 5 - Musicology by Prince, Twentysomething by Jamie Cullum, Hurt No More by Mario Winans, So Called Chaos by Alanis Morissette and an obscure Barry White CD).
Prince's style of music has always been unique, and I've always liked his funky soulful groovy kind of music. When I first saw his Musicology MTV on the TV, I was immediately hooked. Reminds me of old school funk... which is pretty funky cool in this generation of hip hops, R&B and alternative rock.
The album starts of with Musicology, which sets the tune for the rest of the album. Tracks like A Million Days, The Marrying Kind and Dear Mr. Man shows the versatility of Prince as an accomplished artist.
And I am glad he decides to go back to using Prince, rather than "The Artist Formerly Known As Prince" or that weird symbol.
