The story of high heels

Came across this book that day at MPH, about the most frequent FAQ asked by girls. When I flipped through the book, this particular topic catched my eyes. It talks about the original purpose of high heeled shoes. Here's the story:
So, durin the 18th century, there's actually no toilets in France, so what did the french do when they need to go to the toilet? Basically, they used a piece of paper or cloth to wrap up the shit, n then throw it outside into the streets. So you can say that the streets of Paris are full of shit during that time. The same thing happened in the palace as well, to prevent the King from stepping on shit and dirtied his majesty's pants/legs all the while, the royal designers design a type of shoes for the king which had high heels.
Men and women alike, the French started to wear high heel shoes, but as time goes by, the men abandoned the idea, but the women liked them very much and it becomes a fashion, till now...... So ladies, when you wear a pair of high heels next time, please remember the very first reason of it's existence and appreciate that you are not wearing it for that reason.
