Zouk Fest @ Genting, Saturday, 5 March 2005 Part IV

Finally got into the party area, but both of us have lost contact with the group, anyhow, we just went ahead to walk around the place while tried to contact them. Here's a map of all the stages.


The first stage we saw when we walked in from the entrance was the huge Ghetto Heaven Stage, here was where the non stop R&B music played. But we didn't just stop there, we continued to wander around. When we walked pass the left side of the stage, there was this huge VIP tent for the so-called VIP only, we didn't have any VIP in the gang, so won't be able to go up there at all. Right behind the VIP area was the ZOUK main arena, where they have all the famous DJ's playing all the electronic music. Not my type at all, so I just waited beside the 'Recharge' counter while my friend tried to locate the gang. The weather was so cold that I couldn't help but to sit down so that the crowd will block the cold wind for me. Once again, I had to wonder how the girls can stand the cold with so few pieces of cloth.

After about 20 minutes, my friend finally able to locate them, we ran off back to the Ghetto Heaven Arena. Right beside the VIP tent, there was this slope which leaded uphill to the Velvet Arena, where they played house music. But we didn't go up there at all, nobody in the gang was a fan of house I guessed. So finally, we were able to regroup again at the Ghetto Heaven Arena. The gang started to pick up the mood after some beers, but after all the troubles of getting into the party, somehow it was not as fun as it should be. But anyhow, we still enjoyed the party as much as we deserve to. Dancing to the beat of the music, drinking as much as we could (although beer only), combining with the cold weather and searing wind, it was one hell of a great experience.

3 hours later, everybody started to get tired, when we tried to locate the other 4 of the members, we just manged to find 1 of the couples only. After much effort of contacting them, we finally decided that probably they have gone back to the room and we shouldn't disturbed them for the time being. For ther rest of the 4 of us, we proceeded to grab something to eat at the Hainan restaurant (again!). Despite being so late in the night, it was still full of young clubbers and old gamblers, Genting is really a non stop city of entertainment. When we finished the meal, the lost couple finally contacted us, they were already back in the room. With a fully exhausted body and a dizzy mind, we went back to the room for some good sleep.

I was not able to get a sound sleep at all, the morning came shortly after I fall on the bed. The next Sunday was pretty uneventful, after a lunch and some coffee at Starbucks, we bid farewell to the gang and drived down the hill.

Wow, finally finish the part 4, I know this is abit too late to write about a party more than 2 months ago, but somehow I have to finish the story right? Comparing with my previous party last year, this party was much enjoyable, although there were so much more troubles of getting into the party. At the end of the day, it is always about how pleasant and nice the partner and gang you go with to a party instead of how great is the party itself.
