Book Review: 4th of July by James Patterson

This is the 4th installment of the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson. The story begins with Lt. Lindsay Boxer battling a lawsuit after a shootout that claimed the life of a 15 years old girl and crippled the 14 years old brother. As she is put on suspended duty pending the trial, she took off out of town to her sister's place. But she soon found herself intrigued and involved with the local police force in investigating a series of murders involving couples living in the area.

Overall, the book is still a page turner, but I felt that the writer (and co-writer) tried to create a little Grisham-ish style with the courtroom drama, which didn't quite appeal to me (especially compared to Grisham's books). And I am not sure if it's just me, but I can sense a little incohesiveness in the tone and language, the difference between the two authors are a little apparent.

I've always been attracted to storyline with strong female leads. So I guess I will still look out for the 5th installment of the series by James Patterson.
